You can’t help but read stories about job losses these days. I know it seems that if you are one of the many that ends up with a ‘pink slip’ the chances are slim of finding a position in your chosen career or even a position in a new field.

They say ‘change is as good as a rest’ but these days change certainly isn’t very restful. Change is a constant and even more so these days with the economic uncertainty.
So what can you do to manage change?
Change can be fearful. If you are forced into a ‘change’, such as a career change or job loss it can trigger a number of emotions. But change can be the beginning of a totally new experience and much success. It is how you handle this change, work through the change.

Career changes can leave us feeling nervous, excited, sad, angry, disoriented, confused, a mix of a many emotions. During this particular time in our history career changes are very likely. How you cope can make the difference between success and failure.
Resilience is the ability to cope well, bounce back, remain optimistic, etc. in the face of change. Sound difficult? Take a step back from the ‘throws of emotions’ to see the possibilities rather than the challenges. You have a choice in how you cope.
